Destruction Operation by Mobile Destruction Facilities
In April 2007 then Prime Minister Shinzo Abe announced to the visiting Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao that Japan would introduce mobile destruction facilities to accelerate the destruction of ACWs. Premier Wen welcomed this announcement.
Outline of Mobile Destruction Facility
A Mobile Destruction Facility is designed to destroy the ACWs already excavated, recovered and stored in the temporary storehouses at various sites in China, except Haerba-ling.
A Mobile Destruction Facility consists of container-size units that can load equipment on a trailer bed. It can be repeatedly assembled and disassembled, and travel around the country to conduct ACW destruction operations.
The facility is set up at an appropriate location close to the temporary storehouse, with due attention to safety and the environment.
Two Mobile Destruction Facilities are deployed to destroy ACWs already stored in China: one for the southern part of China including Jiangsu Province and Hubei Province, the other one for the northern part of China including Hebei Province and Heilongjiang Province.
